The EB-66Es were converted from RB-66B
and designed for the electronic counter measures (ECM) mission. The
aircraft designed was based on the EB-66B modifications, but incorporated
much more extensive updates to the electronic emission detection,
surveillance and jamming equipment. The photo reconnaissance equipment was
removed to make room for the additional ECM equipment. |

Thirty four aircraft were modified and served in Southeast Asia
beginning in the late 1960s. By the mid-1970s, the EB-66E were replaced by
more advanced aircraft including the McDonnell
Douglas F-4G Wild Weasel.
